3장 2절

이 땅의 모든 집안 가운데서

너희만을 내가 가까이 하였다.

그 까닭으로 너희 모든 죄악에 대해

내가 너희를 벌해야만 하겠다.

From among all the families on the earth

I have been intimate with you alone.

That is why I must punish you

for all your sin.

6장 3~7절

재앙이 온다는 생각은 도무지 않으나

너희 행실로 심판의 날은 가까이 닥치고 있다.

상아 침상에 퍼질고 눕고

긴 의자에 기대서는

어린양의 연한 고기와

살찐 송아지의 최상 부위를

먹고 있는

너희라니

참 무서운 일이다.

비파 소리에 맞추어 시시한 노래를 부르며

다윗 같은 위대한 음악가라고 너희는 스스로 착각한다.

술은 대접째로 마시고

냄새 좋은 로션을 바르면서

나라의 곤경에 대해서는 상관하지 않고.

그러기에 제일 먼저 너희가 포로로 끌려 갈 것이다.

갑자기 네 파티는 모두 끝날 것이다.

You push away every thought of coming disaster,

but your actions only bring the day of judgement closer.

How terrible for you who sprawl on ivory beds

and lounge on your couches,

eating the meat of tender lambs from the flock

and of choice calves fattened in the stall.

You sing trivial songs to the sound of the harps

and fancy yourselves to be great musicians like

David.

You drink wine by the bowful

and perfume yourselves with fragrant lotions.

You care nothing about the ruin of your nation.

Therefore, you will be the first to be led away as captives.

Suddenly, all your parties will end.
